Dear friends,

To make this Diwali even more memorable and meaningful, let us pledge to re-dedicate ourselves to spread light and happiness by lightening the load of our fellow citizens, through "nishkam-sewa."

We learn from the life of Maharishi Dayanand ji that he bore all trials and tribulations with a smile and yet he spread the light of truth. Swami Dayanand ji had said " The man, who resolves to stick to the truth at all costs, steadily rises in virtues. When his virtues raise his reputation and prestige, he becomes all the more a devotee of truth. This devotion to truth becomes an unerring source of power and greatness." Let us work together, in unison, as one family, and make our DAV truly powerful and great.

I request each and everyone of us, academicians, students and staff, to motivate the nation through personal example. We should light "Earthen Diyas." This will enrich the celebrations with cultural depth, spiritual significance and show our commitment to environmental sustainability. Also the literal “sons of the soil”, the potters will also celebrate a happier Diwali.

I wish you and your loved ones, a happy & healthy, clean & green, noise-free & pollution- free, Diwali. May your house be filled with joy, love and lots of laughter.
